The 1st of the famous posthorn sections, mm. 255-310, to be played “Wie aus weiter Ferne” (“As if from far away”). Originally in F major, transposed here to Bb. Especially if optional low notes are played, this will suit most every Renaissance bass perfectly, and could be played by an alto (preferably Renaissance) in a pinch. Revised 5.13.18.
